Gear Recommendations

Especially if you're just starting out, looking for the right gear can cause a world of struggle. I've used a lot of cameras and a lot of gear, so I'm here to recommend some of my favorite and most useful gear to help set you on the right path!

Canon EOS M50

I may be biased because this was my first camera, but this camera blessed me with an insane "bang for my buck." It's a very small and light mirrorless camera capable of filming up to 4k 30FPS. The image coming out of this camera will blow you away. If you're looking for a first camera, I would stick with Canon or Sony.

50mm f1.8 Lens

No matter what Brand you chose for your camera (hopefully not Nikon though, yikes!), a 50mm f1.8 lens is always a great first lens. The wide aperture will give you that beautiful blurry background and it will also help with taking photos in lower light.

Neewer 5-in-1 Reflector

When light isnt cooperating, these reflectors will be your best friend. Light is easily the most important part of photography. No matter your gear, light can make or break the photo. At a low price, these reflectors will make a world of difference.

Ring Light

Along with reflectors, light sources can change the game. Ring lights are a simple, yet effective method of lighting your subject. They don't come off as too harsh light making the image look crisp.
